Booking wheels in means giving us a home address and sending photographs of your car. This sets out what we do with both, how long we keep them, and what you can make us do about it.

We collect what a repair needs and nothing else. We do not sell anything to anybody. Your address is used to get a van to your car, and your photographs are not published without asking you first.
Fathom Wheel Refinishing Ltd is an alloy wheel refurbishment business registered in England and Wales, company number 12004488, at Unit 12, Kestrel Court, Airport Industrial Estate, Portsmouth, PO3 5RB. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the information described here.
There is no separate data protection officer. The two directors handle it between them, and you can reach either at quotes@fathomwheels.co.uk or on 023 9296 0148.
Almost all of it comes from you, through the form on this site, by phone, or by text and email.
This is the part worth reading twice, because it is the one most specific to what we do.
We photograph wheels before and after every job. Those images stay in the job record as evidence of condition, which protects both of us if what a wheel looked like on arrival is ever in question.
Where an image might appear on our website or social media, we ask you first, and registration plates are blurred or cropped out before anything is published. Saying no has no effect on the work, the price or the warranty, and you can ask us to take an image down afterwards.
Photographs you send us of your own vehicle are used to quote and to plan the job. They are not passed to anyone outside the business except a parts supplier where a photograph is genuinely needed to identify a wheel.
Data protection law requires a lawful basis for each use. Ours are:
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can object to processing we do on the basis of legitimate interests, and you can withdraw consent for marketing or for a published photograph at any time.
Email us and we will respond within one month. There is no charge. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, usually the address the work was done at and the vehicle.
Some of it we cannot delete on request. An invoice HMRC requires us to keep stays until its retention period is up, and we will tell you if that applies.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first. Most of it is a misunderstanding and gets sorted the same week.
If that does not resolve it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. You do not have to come to us first, but we would rather you did.
